Insight Dialogue is a way of bringing the tranquillity and insight attained in meditation directly into your interactions with other people. It's a practice that involves interacting with a partner in a retreat setting or on your own, as a way of accessing a profound kind of insight. This insight then serves you in your everyday interactions. The retreat is available to all interested persons. No previous knowledge or experience is requested.
Joseph Goldstein about Gregory's Book Insight Dialogue - the Interpersonal Path to Freedom: "...Gregory Kramer breaks new ground in applying the Buddha's teachings to our lives and relationships..."
An Insight Dialogue Retreat is based on the silent retreat form of the Insight Meditation tradition with periods of silent sitting, integrating with sequences of Insight Dialogue practice, a daily talk, groups and personal interviews with the teacher.
Over the course of the 6-day retreat, we will deepen the practice and gain more insight into our interpersonal habitual tendencies, we then realise how this practice can slowly loosen their binding power. Perhaps we touch a new kind of peace and freedom.
This work is particularly interesting for anyone who wishes to develop more presence, mindfulness, wisdom and clarity in their interpersonal life, whether as a therapist, parent, spouse, co-worker or friend.
An ancient path in our modern life:
"The Buddha's insights have astonishing depth and right-now relevance because they were based upon his direct, embodied experience...The facts of our shared physiology, and of the heart-minds tender responses, ensure the continued relevance of those human teachings." (Gregory Kramer, www.metta.org)
